Why Maine
This practice started as a New England apprenticeship in generational tradecraft.
Twenty-five years and three markets later, that hands-on foundation is what drives the work here in Maine. This is a state where the envelope is tested every single winter, where a missed detail in October is a claim in February, and where the distance between a good building and a failing one is mostly attention.
In 2024 a lunch with Amanda Rector, the Maine State Economist, laid out the housing numbers forecast out to 2030. It clarified where this practice should go next: from single estates to the portfolios that house people.
